Senator Ritchie Announces Winter Break Essay/Picture Contest for Students in K-8

Students in Grades Kindergarten through 8 Invited to Take Part in Essay, Picture Contest In an effort to promote literacy among young people, Senate Select Committee on Libraries Chair Senator Patty Ritchie is announcing a new program that encourages students to “check out” their local libraries over winter break.

Senator Ritchie’s “Make Libraries Your Winter Break Destination” program invites students in grades kindergarten through 8th to submit a one page essay or picture that depicts why they enjoy visiting their local library during February break.

The Hannibal Free Library would like to take a moment to remind you of youth programs we offer:

 Story Hour is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-11am beginning September 6th. This program is directed at children who are 2-4. In this Story Hour children learn to recognize their names, shapes, and letters of the alphabet. Each Session we will sing a welcome song, read a story, and do either a craft or activity.
